Blind Panic 13

As we left the caves for our usual training ground, we  noticed Pixie wasn’t with us, and, looking around, we didn’t see her anywhere. Concerned, we backtracked to the caves, and heard Aquaria and Pixie talking. Aquaria appeared to be upset that Pixie was making friends in the group so easily, Pixie, on the other hand, seemed confused as to ‘Quarie’s problem.  Re-entering the caves, we made our presence known, and asked the problem. Aquaria, scowling at us, wrapped a hand over Pixie’s face, and both disappeared into the water. Startled, we went to the waters edge, and saw Aquaria towing Pixie along under the water, Pixie looking happy and waving. Shaking our head in confusion, we went to train.

Getting to the training ground, We found Aquaria and Pixie already there, and Aquaria looking smugly at us when we arrived. Pixie, running over to us, told us that if Quarie clasped a hand over someone’s mouth and nose, they could breathe under water too. Relieved, we took to the skies, Pixie, and Flyrilus close behind us. After we tried a few tricks in the sky, the three of us, after a short conversation, came down in a co-ordinated pattern, displaying some precision flight that may come in handy in a tight corner.

With Pyro on my back, we took off again, and he practiced throwing fireballs, which Aquaria then put out with water bombs launched with a lazy flick of the wrist. Pixie, meantime, was in a corner of the old quarry with Versi and Shadow, practicing growing some of the foods that would help make this existence easier to manage. Versi, to Pixie’s astonishment, turned herself into a duplicate Pixie, then a second Aquaria – mimicking her scolding voice in a way that made Pixie double up laughing. When Shadow caught her hand, then made a tomato plant grow in front of her, Pixie was again startled, this time, though, when she tried to grow one herself, she couldn’t. Looking at Shadow, a little scared, Shadow only grinned and said she’d have her powers back in a short while. Happy again, Pixie giggled.

Suddenly, Optic stood stock still, one hand rising to his head, rubbing at his temple as if in sudden pain. Raising his head, in a very different voice from usual, he said ”They come. Here, they catch Fly and Pixie. “ with that, his head dropped to his chest, and he flopped floorwards, only Beyblades quick reflexes saved him landing on the floor. Aquaria, dumbfounded, glared at him, before demending ”They come. They catch Fly and Pixie. WHEN?” Shaking his head, Optic replied that he didn’t know when, just that it WOULD happen. With that, we called it a day for training, and went back to the caves.
